iRant: Migrating to Intel

  • vance · 2 years ago
    depends on the budget.....

    10k below, there asus p5b-deluxe, p5b-vanilla, and DFI INFINITY 965-s Dark 8k (solid capacitors et all at this price range) plus a good overclocking board (if you ever wanted to)

    10k up: Asus striker, commando, p5n32-e sli (with nvidia 680i chipset) (priced at 13k), Gigabyte has the same board with nvidia 680i chipset priced at 20k....

    The good time to buy, if you can still wait, is around July 22nd onwards, all Core 2 duo and Quad Core processors would have price cuts.. and new processors would also be introduce, hence price cuts..

    ==============
    OT intel has recently release a new chipset that will support ddr3. watch for it.

    Wow ang mahal. Will s775 phased out when this 965 comes out?

    Okay ba yung Asus P5L-MX? Masyadong mahal ang 10-20K for a mobo. Di naman ako hardcore gamer. Paglabas lang ulit ng SCII siguro. But for now, this computer will only be used for like 3-6 hours a week.

    hindi po socket 965, its a socket LGA 775 parin, the 965 is the chipset that intel has made for their motherboard for socket lga775 processors (Pentium 4, Pentium D and Core 2 duo)..

    theres one more that I forgot to add; msi 965 neo-f, it has sata, pci-e 16x ddr2 800 slots... for 5k.. pwede na sya

    or a cheaper mobo na 4coredual-vsta, pci-e 4x lang sya no sata 2 slots and upto ddr2 667 ang supported rams.. for 3k sa pcoptions ko lang ito nakita, in gilmore...

    I don't need to buy one. because most of what i recommend are good, hehe.. Nabasa ko lang naman sa tipidpc.com... hehehe.... its still upto you kung which one you will invest.. kung office use lang ok na yung msi 965 neo-f (yung lang ang mura na may 1 year future proof, hehe)

    I think I'll settle for something low-end for now.

    low-end:
    Asrock 4coredual-vsta 3k lang hehehehe.... low-end version of Asus brand mobos daw ito.... it has 2 sata 1 slots, 2 ata133 ports, no firewire, 4 usb 2 slots, 7.1 audio, maximum of 2 gig ddr2 667 mems only,

    another low-end is the msi 965 neo-f 5k.

    I kinda don't trust AsRock anymore. I'll just go for the cheapest Asus board or this 965 MSI.
